Supported Internship
What is a supported internship?
This is a one year, full-time education programme run by the college in partnership with Wigan Council’s Supporting Skills and Futures Team.
During their college day, Interns will develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed to transition successfully into the workplace, whilst also gaining a recognised qualification.
Interns will spend a significant amount of time on the programme in an agreed workplace, (up to 70%). They will be supported 1:1 by a qualified Employment Coach.
The primary goal of the programme is to support Interns to secure paid employment.
Entry Requirements:
- Aged 16-24 with a desire to further develop your employability skills.
- In receipt of an Education, Health and Care Plan, (EHCP).
- Be motivated and committed to securing employment that will enrich your future life.
