Strategic Vision
Wigan & Leigh College is proud to launch its new Strategic Vision for 2024-2027.
The last strategic vision took us through a rich period of growth and achievement including the bounce-back from the COVID years, the commencement of a new campus re-build, launching the Greater Manchester Institute of Technology and further improving outcomes for our learners and community.
The 2024-2027 vision builds on those successes, focusing on evolution, not revolution.
In consultation with our workforce, students, governors and stakeholders, we have reviewed our vision and values and key strategic ambitions. The vision remains focused around:
- Quality: providing an exceptional learning experience enabling all learners to fulfil their potential
- Place & Productivity: as an anchor institution in our community, increase local productivity, innovation and social inclusion
- Investment for the Future; invest in the workforce, learning environment and the curriculum of the future
With new priority actions our vision responds to external changes such as curriculum reform, increased accountability and devolution but places learners, education and skills at its centre and remains focused on innovative teaching and learning.
Principal, Anna Dawe said ‘We are excited to launch our new 3 year vision. Coming on the back of a period of significant investment and success for our students and staff, we are ready to embark on this new phase of the college’s journey. The positive contribution we make to our local community and the impact we have has never been so important and this is reflected in our ambitious plan.’
