Fatou Diop

Originally from Senegal, ESOL student Fatou Diop lived in Italy for 15 years before moving to the UK four years ago.

The mother of two had a successful career as a hairdresser in Senegal and in Rome and hopes to get back to the profession she loves after improving her English.

“I like this country and speaking English,” said Fatou. “I came here as I wanted a change of environment and to give my children the chance to learn English to a good level.”

“The ESOL course is good. I like it and we have very nice teachers. It makes me want to come and study because they are so lovely. I have also gained lots of new friends on the course and for me, I’m very happy.”
