Is this course for me?

You should study for this qualification if you would like to work as an accounts assistant in a manual or computerised accounting environment.

What will I study?

The AAT Intermediate Stage programme consists of Accounts preparation, Prepare final accounts for sole traders and partnerships, Costs and revenues, Indirect Tax, Spread Sheet Software, Professional Ethics.

How long is the course?

This is a one year, part time course, covering 8 hours per week in class.

How will I be assessed?

Assessment consists of a combination of internal skills testing and external examinations.

What qualifications do I need?

You will require an understanding of the principles of double entry book keeping otherwise the programme is open access with no prescribed entry requirements. However, basic communication and number skills are essential.

What can I progress onto?

Progression is to AAT Technician stage and with relevant work experience on to membership of the AAT (MAAT).

The Association of Accounting Technicians is recognised by leading accounting institutions: the Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICAEW), the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), the Association of Certified Accountants (ACCA).
