Is this course for me?

You should study for this qualification if you would like to work as an assistant to the accountant in a manual or computerised accounting environment.

What will I study?

The AAT Technician Stage consists of: financial statements, budgeting, financial performance, business tax, personal tax and internal control and accounting systems.

How long is the course?

This is a 14 month part time course covering 6 hours per week in class and 2 hours per week online.

How will I be assessed?

By external computerised assessment and project.

What qualifications do I need?

You will require an AAT Level 3 Diploma Accounting qualification or an alternative qualification, such as a UK Degree in Accountancy.

What can I progress onto?

With work experience, to membership of the AAT (MAAT) and exemption from some examinations of UK professional accounting institutions.

The Association of Accounting Technicians is recognised by leading accounting institutions: the Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICAEW), the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), the Association of Certified Accountants (ACCA).
