Is this course for me?

Budding entrepreneurs and those with a flair for business will gain a deeper understanding of the modern corporate world. Our academic and industry professionals incorporate the latest commercial developments into the programmes, with an insight into marketing, finance and human resources. The programme has a reputation for producing well-rounded employable students who are ready for university study and employment. This course is designed for those who wish to gain an understanding of the dynamic world of business. You will explore a range of business services and gain experience through a work placement. On completion of the course you may choose to specialise in a particular area of business. You will also complete a work placement with a key local employer.

What will I study?

You will study modules such as Enterprise in Business, Business Online, Principles of Marketing, Financial Forecasting and Sales and Personal Selling. You will also study English and maths unless you already hold a Grade C GCSE. The programme of study will also entail work related learning.

How long is the course?

Full time for one academic year

How will I be assessed?

You will be assessed via a combination of internal and external methods including formal examination.

What qualifications do I need?

A minimum of 5 GCSE subjects graded 9-3 or equivalent including maths or English.

What can I progress onto?

You can progress onto the Business Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma, pursue apprenticeship opportunities or secure employment. There are many career prospects including Marketing Officer/Manager/Director, Accounting Technician, Accountant, Human Resources Officer/Manager, Business Analyst, Project Manager, Management Consultant, Recruitment Consultant, Training Manager and Social Media Manager.
