Is this course for me?

A one year top-up to an honours degree for those who have a Higher National Diploma or Foundation Degree in Computing to develop their skills and apply research and critical thinking to solve problems using appropriate technology. Undergraduates develop research and critical thinking skills, combining theoretical study with an industry placement. The programme is delivered by industry experts and education professionals who have extensive computing knowledge, as well as industrial and commercial experience. The programme is based in the Centre for Advanced Technical Studies with access to new hardware for robotics, internet of things, connected devices and virtual reality. Classrooms and computing laboratories are furnished with up-to-date software and networking equipment, to provide the latest technology and university standard resources. All students receive a laptop and equipment to allow them to develop their own project. Students also undertake visits to employers and conferences, e.g. EGX Gaming event, and participate in a series of guest speaker lecturers from local, national employers as well as international companies such as Sony, all designed to enhance their skills, knowledge and employment opportunities.
