The purpose of Pearson BTEC Higher Nationals in Quantity Surveying for England is to develop students as professional, self-reflecting individuals able to meet the demands of employers in the construction sector and adapt to a constantly changing world. The qualifications aim to widen access to higher education and enhance the career prospects of those who undertake them.ALIGNED WITH INDUSTRY
Students will gain underpinning knowledge and understanding of quantity surveying.
Courses are delivered by tutors with a range of specialist expertise from Chartered Engineering to Quantity Surveying, legal experts and site engineers from leading companies including Balfour Beatty, Mott McDonald and Highways England.
INDUSTRY STANDARD FACILITIES
Study in brand new industry standard facilities at the Centre for Advanced Technical Studies with £118,000 investment in new surveying equipment, including a robotic total station, 3D laser scanner, GPS surveyor equipment.
EXPERIENCE OUTSIDE THE CLASSROOM
As part of the Greater Manchester Institute of Technology (GMIoT) we have access to a partner employer network exposing students to more employers through guest speakers, visits and competitions to enhance their employability opportunities.

What qualifications do I need?
Mature students with experience, a portfolio of work and employer references will be considered.
Students must also possess a Grade C/4 or above in Maths at GCSE or equivalent.
What can I progress onto?
Employment- the programme provides a solid grounding in quantity surveying.
Higher or degree apprenticeships - This programme can provide you with a stepping stone into a higher or degree apprenticeship.
HND - study for a further year to achieve an HND.
Once a HND has been completed, you could progress onto a top-up degree at university to achieve a full honours degree.
This course can also be delivered as part of a higher/degree apprenticeship.

Course Fees
Course fees shown are per annum for University Centre courses. Courses lasting longer than one year, fees will be payable per year.
