Is this course for me?

This course is for any budding Electricians, who want to gain a recognised qualification, and experience that will aid them in becoming a competent Electrician. The typical electrical student Is a confident, intelligent, practically minded individual, with a capacity to apply maths, Science and logic in their approach to problem solving. Who want to gain recognised qualifications, and experience that will aid them in becoming a competent Electrician.

What will I study?

This course has been introduced to develop the skills necessary to pursue a career in the electrotechnical industry. You will cover the following areas.: Structure of the construction industry, Fundamental safe working practices, Environmental and sustainability measures in domestic dwellings, Site preparation for working in the construction industry, Electrical installation wiring and terminations, Fabrication techniques for electrical installation, Electrical science and technology.

How long is the course?

Full time for one academic year

How will I be assessed?

Throughout the course you will be assessed on the various units by multiple choice exams, plus written and practical assessments.

What qualifications do I need?

A minimum of 5 GCSE subjects graded 9-3 or equivalent including maths.

What can I progress onto?

The sky's the limit! (City and Guilds Level 2 technical certificate in Electrical Installation. City and Guilds level 3 Diploma In Electrical Installation. 5357 Electrical Apprenticeship. 2382 18th Edition qualification. 2396 city and Guilds Level 4 Design, Erection and Verification. 2377 Portable Appliance Testing. HNC in Building Services.
