Is this course for me?

By studying an Extended Diploma, students develop knowledge, understanding and skills required by the engineering sector, this also include essential employability skills that can then be applied into real work contexts. Thisqualification allows students to develop the wide ranging knowledge, understanding and skills required for direct progression into a broad range of roles within the engineering sector.

What will I study?

The course has been designed as a two year programm of study, enabling students to develop a substantial common core of knowledge, including Health and Safety, Engineering Principles, Engineering Projects, Product Design and Manufacture, Selecting and using PLC s, Electronic Devices and Circuits, Three phase motors, Calculus, Further Maths, MIcroprocessors and Electronic Circuit Design and Manufacture.

How long is the course?

Full time for two academic years

How will I be assessed?

By assignment and practical assessments.

What qualifications do I need?

A minimum of 5 GCSE subject graded 9-4 or equivalent including science, maths or English.

What can I progress onto?

Progressions from this course include University study, Higher Education or Degree/Advanced apprenticeship.

Other Information

You will be taught by a professional team of staff who will support you throughout your course. If you are 16-18 years old, you may be eligible for our FREE bus pass.
