You will develop the analytical thinking skills and principles of electrical engineering employers are looking for. This programme will develop your knowledge to become a professional engineer, designing innovative products and services, as well as taking responsibility for complex engineering systems. You will hear from industry leaders, such as Sellafield and Highways England, as part of the guest speaker programme as well as being offered the opportunity to network with other employers as part of the GMIoT.

How long is the course?
Full time for one academic year. There is the option to complete a HND after year 1. Options also available to study part-time.
How will I be assessed?
The programme is assessed through a variety of methods, from written assignments, presentations and laboratory exercises.
What qualifications do I need?
A relevant L3 Diploma with 96 UCAS points.
Mature students with experience, a portfolio of work and employer references will be considered.
Students must possess a Grade 4 or above in Maths at GCSE or equivalent.

What can I progress onto?
You can progress onto the HND for another year or progress onto a Degree Apprenticeship programme or full time employment.
Following the HND you may progress to the BEng (Hons) Electrical & Electronic Engineering (Top-up) awarded by UCLan and delivered by the University Centre for 2 years part-time.
You may secure employment in electrical and nuclear power, electronics, electrical or systems industries, with varying levels of responsibility depending on your higher qualifications and experience.
Following the HND you may progress to the BEng (Hons) Electrical & Electronic Engineering (Top-up) awarded by UCLan and delivered by the University Centre for 2 years part-time.

16-18 year olds do not pay exam fees.
Course fees shown are per annum for University Centre courses. Courses lasting longer than one year, fees will be payable per year.
