You will develop the analytical thinking skills and principles of electrical engineering employers are looking for. This programme will develop your knowledge to become a professional engineer, designing innovative products and services, as well as taking responsibility for complex engineering systems. The IET accreditation on behalf of the Engineering Council is available for students who progress and complete the BEng (Hons) Electrical & Electronic Engineering Top-up.

You will hear from industry leaders, such as Sellafield and Highways England, as part of the guest speaker programme as well as being offered the opportunity to network with other employers as part of the GMIoT.

What qualifications do I need?
Mature students with experience, a portfolio of work and employer references will be considered.
Students must possess a Grade 4 or above in Maths at GCSE or equivalent.
What can I progress onto?
Following the HND you may progress to the BEng (Hons) Electrical & Electronic Engineering (Top-up) awarded by UCLan and delivered by the University Centre for 2 years part-time.
You may secure employment in electrical and nuclear power, electronics, electrical or systems industries, with varying levels of responsibility depending on your higher qualifications and experience.
Other Information
You will be taught by a professional team of tutors with a range of specialist expertise - from Chartered Engineering to Nuclear Decommissioning and Power Engineering.
This programme may also be studied as part of a higher or degree apprenticeship.
Course Fees
16-18 year olds do not pay exam fees.
Course fees shown are per annum for University Centre courses. Courses lasting longer than one year, fees will be payable per year.
