Is this course for me?

The programme provides students with analytical thinking skills and the principles of electrical engineering.



What will I study?

Modules such as: Engineering Maths, Engineering Science, Engineering Design, Managing a Professional Engineering Project and Electrical and Electronic Principles. Additionally there are two pathways available, the Power pathway delivers; Electrical Systems and Fault Finding, Electrical Machines and Automation, Robotics and PLCs. The Electronics pathway delivers: Digital Principles, Electronic Circuits and Devices and Automation, Robotics and PLCs.

How long is the course?

Two years on a part time basis, students can study additional modules to complete a HND.

How will I be assessed?

The programme is assessed through a variety of methods from written assignments and projects.

What qualifications do I need?

A relevant Level 3 Diploma with 96 UCAS points. Mature students with experience, a portfolio of work and employer references will be considered. Students must possess a Grade 4 or above in Maths at GCSE or equivalent.

What can I progress onto?

Progression to the HND programme and then BEng (Hons) Electrical and Electronic Engineering programme.

Course fees shown are per annum for University Centre courses. Courses lasting longer than one year, fees will be payable per year.
