Is this course for me?

This course is an introduction to the sector and is designed to build on your interest and passion for the industry. It will help you learn the basics of hair styling, beauty treatments and gives an introduction to the hairdressing and beauty therapy industry.

Aspire courses also have an element of occupational studies in the work place, helping you to be work ready.

What will I study?

An introduction to the hair and beauty sector

Presenting a professional image in the work place

Basic styling of women's hair

Basic hand care and basic 2d nail art

Creating an image to a theme

Improving own confidence

Functional skills English and Maths

How long is the course?

One academic year

How will I be assessed?

On going practical assessments

A quiz at the end of each unit

What qualifications do I need?

No qualifications needed but an interest in hair and beauty and a willingness to learn is essential

What can I progress onto?

Level 1 hair and beauty

GCSE maths and English

Other Information

A uniform and kit is required for the course and must be worn/brought for all sessions to comply with health and safety

During the course, several trips and visits will take place which you will be invited to join including a residential trip

Course fees shown are per annum for University Centre courses. Courses lasting longer than one year, fees will be payable per year.
