What will I study?

You'll develop your skills of analysis and critical thinking though the study of British Industrialisation 1783 - 1885 and Weimar and Nazi Germany 1918 - 1945, along with your choice of coursework topic.

Evaluate these significant periods of the past and develop an understanding of what has gone before to prepare for the future.

You'll also have the opportunity to complete coursework, with the chance to delve deeper into any historical topic in which you are interested. The skills gained within the history course will allow you to develop academically and personally. You will become analytical, evaluative and well-rounded learners.

How long is the course?

Full-time for two academic years.

How will I be assessed?

Through a combination of written exams and practical assessments.

What qualifications do I need?

A minimum of 5 GCSE subjects graded 9-5 including English and Maths. 2 GCSE subjects graded 9-6 (one in an essay-based subject).

What can I progress onto?

You may progress to study at a Russell group university for a degree in a related subject.

Other Information

You'll hear from an archives guest speaker, visits from the Holocaust Educational Trust Lessons from Auschwitz Project with talks from a holocaust survivor, plus you'll go on UCAS and university trips.
