Is this course for me?

If you are thinking about becoming a teacher, then this introductory course will allow you to explore the basic principles of teaching. This qualification is aimed at a range of learners who need an initial award for their role as a teacher or trainer in education and other settings including Adult Community Learning Centres or Training Providers. The course is also suitable for those delivering work based training within voluntary, community, private and public organisations.

What will I study?

You will develop a range of knowledge and skills including planning inclusive teaching and training sessions, developing learner-centred approaches, designing effective resources and basic principles of assessments.

How long is the course?

Part time over 14 weeks at 3 hours per week.

How will I be assessed?

Assignments, reflective journals and a practical mini teach.

What qualifications do I need?

A level 2 qualification in English is desirable.

What can I progress onto?

Level 5 Certificate in Education if you have a L3 qualification in your subject specialism and a minimum of a Level 2 in English.
