The exceptional achievement of Aaron Wilson was celebrated today as he was awarded the prestigious BTEC Award for Art and Design Learner of the Year 2020.
Aaron was recognised by teachers and peers for succeeding despite personal challenges throughout studying for the qualification. His proactivity, passion, tenacity and willingness to help and support others led to outstanding BTEC results.
Meanwhile, we were delighted to learn that Nathan Dodgson, a former Shevington High School pupil, was also given the Bronze Award in BTEC Sport Student of the Year 2020.
Former Hawkley Hall High School pupil, Aaron's hard work and dedication was celebrated at the tenth anniversary of Pearson’s annual BTEC Awards hosted online on 25 June 2020.
Aaron, commented: "I have loved the past three years of my life. It has introduced me to new perspectives and expanded my interests. I am looking forward to continuing to explore the creative world and I hope this award will inspire my classmates and others to aim high."
The talented student is progressing to the University of Central Lancashire to do Games Design BA (Hons) having received an unconditional offer.
Creative Design for Gaming Lecturer, Jonathan Hodson added: "We're all hugely proud of everything Aaron has achieved here at the college.
"It's so inspiring to see how much he gets out of all of his hard work and how generous he is in offering help to his peers. We look forward to seeing where all of his efforts take him in life."
