Level 3 Photography student, Megan Causey won a national competition enabling her to gain a unique experience with Getty Images professional photographer, Jan Kruger at the recent WSL match between Man United Women and Liverpool F.C Women at Leigh Sports Village.
The former Cansfield High School pupil said: “It boosted my confidence and has changed my perspective with a brand new area of photography I want to explore. It was so action packed, I felt like I was a player on the pitch!”
Megan has received various university offers and is planning to progress into a professional photography role and work for either a magazine or an agency in the future.
Jan reviewed her pictures and responded: "A lot of pro photographers with years of experience struggle with fast action and keeping horizons level. I have no doubt with a bit more experience, in the near future you will find your own way of documenting sport and definitely have a future in the industry."
This opportunity came after students from our BTEC Level 3 Photography course worked on a project for The FA at last year’s Women’s Euros Finals, in which they recorded the local fans' response in host towns and cities. Their work also contributed to Wigan Council archives.
