Lee Caton achieved a First in his BEng (Hons) Mechanical & Manufacturing (Top-up) and has now progressed onto a masters in Mechanical Engineering at The University of Central Lancashire (UCLan).
The engineer decided to complete his Top-up at our University Centre after already completing his HND having found out that the course was accredited by UCLan.
"I decided to complete my Top-up here to enhance my career after moving onto the assembly line at Leyland Trucks. I am now a Production Support Engineer at the company."
And Lee was impressed with the high level of knowledge he gained on his course which left him more than prepared for his masters course.
"Completing my degree here has stood me in good stead as the level that the course was pitched at was a high level and I have since found that some of what is covered in my Masters was covered on my BEng at the University Centre Wigan & Leigh College."
Lee had to juggle his full time job with the birth of his third child but although it was tough combining so many commitments he received a lot of support from his tutors.
"My third child came along at the start of my course and the support I received from my tutors was brilliant. I can't thank them enough they really went above and beyond and I am still in contact with them now."
