Our Sports Lecturer, Katie Chapman has been accepted on to the WorldSkills UK Endorsed Trainer Programme.

She will undertake a three-day training event at Warwick University which is designed to equip leaders and teaching practitioners with the knowledge and skills to raise the quality and standards of technical and vocational learning within their provision.

Katie said: “I’m honoured to have been selected to join the programme and excited to join forces with WorldSkills UK in this incredible opportunity.

“I’m extremely looking forward to delivering the world-class teacher training programme internally at the college, where we aim to raise standards of assessment and foster a strong competition culture from within. This collaboration will help to drive excellence and further enhance our commitment to student success.”

The programme is an opportunity for successful applicants to build on their existing high standards of teaching and training expertise to drive quality improvement by contributing towards an educator’s continuous professional development in UK FE Education and skills sector.

Katie is one of our Teaching and Learning Coaches and a core member of our academy team. She is well positioned to be our WorldSkills UK Endorsed Trainer as she has a strong knowledge of the latest research informed pedagogy, but she also has the vision and drive to embed the WorldSkills UK approaches across the whole organisation and help to ensure excellence in the student experience."
