The prestigious awards event held on 26th April at the Radisson Blu Edwardian Hotel in Manchester, recognised best practice and
excellence in the education sector in the North.
In a celebration of the region's thriving education sector, hundreds of academics, students, executives and business people from across the North and the UK attended the event.
The Further Education College of the Year was open to FE Colleges within the North of England who demonstrated improved achievement rates and Ofsted judgement.
The judges were impressed with the high student and employer satisfaction rates, achievement of silver accreditation of the Teaching Excellence Framework for Higher Education provision and establishing themselves as a financially resilient college.
Principal, Anna Dawe, accepted the award, along with senior leaders to rapturous applause and said: “This accolade further highlights the positive success that the college has received in recent times.”
“Our students are at the heart of everything we do and our aim is always to provide them with the best qualifications that fully prepare them with all of the skills and knowledge to move onto higher study and into employment. “Being recognised as Further Education College of the Year really shows that the hard work of both staff and students is really paying off and we will continue to build on this moving forward.”
